Most reproduce non-sexually. Fe-males become more aggressive when guard-ing their eggs. The males are slightly smaller, dark grey in colour with black, glossy scale covered appendages. Vertical migrations are common in 24h durations. Abundance. Reason for extinction – increasing eutrophication of lakes. Protection. Refraining from using pesticides, fertilisers and polluting with sewage near lakes, which are inhabited by Rurytemora lacustris. Level of dangerousness: 5. Caution needed with females.
