Maastricht has a lot to offer to its visitors and locals: parks, shopping, cultural events - and a very rich, unique history. Some of the city's highlights are iconic churches and monasteries. But did you know that many of these buildings are not spaces of worship anymore? They were repurposed and nowadays they host, for example, a library, a hotel, space for parties and even a private house! In this 45-minutes tour, we will present you to 5 emblematic buildings in Maastricht that were constructed as churches and monasteries. You'll get to know the stories of their constructions, the repurposes they had throughout the years and what are they used for nowadays. Put on comfortable clothes and sneakers, remember to bring your umbrella (it's the Netherlands) and come with us!
