Church of St Olave

1 sound

St Olave’s was built in about 1050 with an extension in the 1200s. It is still a consecrated church and as such is the oldest building still in use in the city. It is now a bookshop but still holds a service on July 29th, St Olave’s Day. On a wall inside is a Henry Westmacott relief sculpture, a monument to Martha Dear.
