What is now Black Boy Fountain was once the Mailing Gallows. Up until 1820, when the Radical Weavers Baird and Hardie were hanged and beheaded in Broad Street, executions were performed outside the Burgh Wall here.

Witch Walk: Margaret Keir is a woman in her 40’s struggling to survive during the late 1650s. The Witchcraft Act has claimed her friend Bessie Stevenson as well as a handful of other women in Stirling. Margaret is terrified that she shall be next. This fictional story is based on the true-events of the witch trials that occurred in 1659 in Stirling. Except for Margaret Keir, the names of all the tried witches are real.
