"Hamid Drake and Adam Rudolph met as 14-year-olds in a Chicago drum shop. Ever since, their shared love of rhythms and musics of the world have seen them travel globally to perform together with Fred Anderson, Don Cherry, Yusef Lateef, Pharaoh Sanders, and Hassan Hakmoun. As Drake reflects, 'I have been developing a hand drum concept on the drum set while Adam says he is developing a drum set concept on his hand drums. We understand one another.' Karuna delves deeply into the world of rhythm, the music of two master percussionists in total sympathy."
