“Wing Generator” lies secluded from the path of the sculpture park, integrated more closely with the natural environment. The musical composition reflects this in its isolated ambience interplayed with some natural sounds, which is intended to acoustically describe a walk around the sculpture. At first glance, the industrial, jutting, and twisting metal structure may seem stark and jarring, like the first tentative metallic ‘clangs’ of the music. As you look closer and begin to walk around the sculpture, you will notice new pieces with each step and see and hear how the sculpture has a conversation with the natural environment. You will see that the work looks entirely different from each new angle. Listen and notice new metallic pieces in the music, that interact with old sounds and eventually leave them behind, only to find them again once you have completed a full circle around the sculpture. Listening closely may also reveal the sounds of your own footsteps, the natural environment, and the faint metal clanging of the sculpture itself, echoed in the music almost as if the metal gear is actually turning.
