PGCLL is one of the newest and most active spaces on campus. It houses first-year dormitories, large lecture halls that hold over 300 students, and endless study and tutorial rooms. It’s a place where thousands of students cross paths daily. The sheer scale of movement here means sound is everywhere: doors slamming, lectures beginning and ending, conversations spilling out into hallways. Large lecture halls amplify this effect — hundreds of voices, coughing, laptop typing — creating a sound environment that can be overwhelming before class even begins.
