Status. 1 category. Species nearing extinction. Habitat. One known population in the North-East. Biotope. Young oak woods with a floor abundant in foliage. Deciduous bushes, among which are larger sunny clearings with Primula veris. Biology. The creature is hard to find, due to its biological characteristics and a keen ability to blend in with its surroundings. During the day often perches on the lower tree branches or lies in hiding in tall grass, using its screeching voice to ward off other animals. Only females fly, the males are rather sluggish, they protect the offspring from predators. Adults are greenish brown in colour, with a line of brown patches in the middle of their backs. A line of yellowish red spots go in line with it. Emit neurotoxins upon sensing danger. The creatures are active only during the summer, until early autumn, feeds on plant leaves and the remains of dead animals. Abundance. It will be two decades that the species is not found in many of the biotopes, only one observed population remains. Protection. Preservation of biotopes from anthropogenic factors. Level of dangerousness: 5. Venom may also affect humans.
