Soundwalk Through Todmorden's Heritage
The Soundwalk has been designed so you can listen to people’s stories as you walk through Centre Vale Park.
This Soundwalk has been produced by Todmorden Town Council with students from Todmorden High School, who decided on the topics, designed the questions, and interviewed local Todmordians!
It doesn’t matter which direction you choose to take, the main route is circular!

We recommend that you download the walk before you start (to the right of the ‘stream walk’ button there is a down arrow - click this). Allow Echoes to make phone calls (this just means it can play you the audio) and select ‘basic’ quality. If you are at one of the main start points (or are at the beginning of a marked audio area), you can select ‘start’. When you walk into an area marked on the map, the audio will start playing automatically (we recommend headphones for the best experience!).
There are two points on the walk at which you will be asked to take a seat and listen to the stories - one in the memorial garden and one at the south shelter. Once this audio has finished, you can continue on the route. There are two bits of ‘bonus content’, which fall outside of the circular path (one behind the Bandstand and one through the middle of the Park), so you can either add these to your route, or come back another time to listen to those!
