The Sireene family, led by George W. Sirrine, was among the original settlers who helped establish Mesa’s early Mormon community. George W. played a meaningful role in shaping the young settlement—working the land, building community networks, and contributing to the foundations of early Mesa life.
The road you are looking at once carried his name, a recognition of his presence and ownership of the land beneath your feet. For Mesa’s 100-year centennial, the street was renamed Centennial to honor the city’s broader history, but the ground itself still carries the memory of the Sirrine homestead.
