Noticing Space- Lily

6 ECHOES

Location: Wellesley, Massachusetts, United States

My sound walk is meant to help the listener realize space and experience the energy shifts that occur when going on a long walk. The walk tells a story that aligns with the different heights, light/shadow, and locations of the botanic garden spaces.

This is a walk that introduces people to the nature that's hidden in the busy town. Students can take a magical, calming trip here after their busy class hours. \-- Eva Qiu

The In between

The In between

Wellesley
\*The In Between is a sound walk exploring the tension between our desire to reconnect with nature and the persistent noise of modern life. Through the sounds of rustling leaves, wind, birdsong, and footsteps, contrasted with nearby traffic and trains, the walk reveals how difficult it can be to experience nature without the interruption of human activity. Rather than seeking complete silence, listeners are invited to find nature in between the noise, listening intentionally to the natural world that continues to exist around them, even when it cannot be heard clearly.

Nestled in between the Science Center and the Botanical Gardens, this is a meditation on finding the balance between the science and nature (if there even is a difference). Walk around slowly, listening for the change in ratio of the sounds and find a balance that you enjoy. Belle
