\*The In Between is a sound walk exploring the tension between our desire to reconnect with nature and the persistent noise of modern life. Through the sounds of rustling leaves, wind, birdsong, and footsteps, contrasted with nearby traffic and trains, the walk reveals how difficult it can be to experience nature without the interruption of human activity. Rather than seeking complete silence, listeners are invited to find nature in between the noise, listening intentionally to the natural world that continues to exist around them, even when it cannot be heard clearly.

A looped path around Paramecium Pond that diverges from your ordinary walk to the Science Center, instead taking you through the Meandering Meadow, Ancestor Oak Circle, Wet Meadow, and back to the start of the pond. The accompanying sounds tell a different story for every chapter of your walk, heightening the natural environment by incorporating meditative electronic music.
