Menhir collective (Coco Moya & Iván Cebrián)

Menhir is an art-music collective by the artist Coco Moya and the musician Iván Cebrián, based in Madrid since 2013. Their site-specific performances and immersive installations are using the landscape as a score. Based in the notion of geopuncture, in that it alters and transforms territory creating a field of interactions and mutual affect, we use music as a virtual menhir. www.menhir.xyz www.cocomoya.com www.ivancebrian.com/

Walking ambient electronic music. www.menhir.xyz The work, based on the cycles of the moon, consists of a geolocated sound tour that dialogues with the margins of astrophysics that take place in nature, and is dedicated to a radical and exhaustive contemplation of the universe.

Esta pieza sonora es una muestra del trabajo en proceso que está llevando a cabo Coco Moya en Farrera durante su residencia de investigación de la Beca d'art i Natura en el Can Farrera / La Panera (Lleida). A lo largo del camino a la ermita de Mare de Deu de la Serra iremos encontrando extractos de las composiciones, que acompañarán al oído en una lectura especulativa del paisaje, abriendo posibles imágenes en nuestro interior de lo que estas piedras pueden hablarnos. La ermita, como una cueva, acoge la resonancia de un habitar que también modifica, imagina y se construye a sí mismo en ese diálogo con su territorio. www.cocomoya.com www.menhir.xyz L’Aplec Saó és una trobada d’arts i natura a l’Alt Pirineu, organitzada des del Centre d’Art i Natura de Farrera (Pallars Sobirà – Lleida) que arriba aquest 2020 a la vuitena edició. www.aplecsao.cat ENGLISH This sound piece is a sample of the work in progress that Coco Moya is carrying out in Farrera during her research residency for the Art and Nature Grant at Can Farrera / La Panera (Lleida). Along the way to the hermitage of Mare de Deu de la Serra we will find extracts of the compositions, which will accompany the ear in a speculative reading of the landscape, opening possible images within us of what these stones can speak to us.
