I en vandring fra Sofienbergparken til Gamle Aker kirke kommer byens historiske arbeiderklasse i fokus, fra den blir til i fabrikkene langs Akerselva til den tilsynelatende forsvinner fram mot vår egen tid. Hvilke spor satte arbeiderbevegelsen? Hvordan preget klassekampen 1800- og 1900-tallets epidemier, og hvilke linjer går det fra Norges første sølvgruve ble etablert i Akerberget og fram til vår egen tid?
