Menhir 13 Moons Formentera

A remote collaboration between two artists in Cornwall, England, and rural Aberdeenshire in Scotland. Initially based around the notions of parenthood, whilst also considering personal, geographical and political space. Composition naturally began to accommodate responses to the pandemic as the album was written during the COVID19 lockdown of 2020. The first five tracks use only the voice and audio production techniques, field recordings, and radio excerpts, whilst the final track contains additional instrumentation.

A partir de una escucha situada y feminista nos aproximamos a los lavaderos públicos como centros de socialización y reunión de mujeres y niños que propiciaron un entramado complejo, en donde la comunicación, los cuidados y la crianza se intersectan espacial y corporalmente. La caminata y el performance a través de la memoria y experimentación se complementan para dar paso a un viaje sonoro que evoca el fluir rizomático del río Turia, así como un encuentro entre el pasado y el presente. Benicàssim is a place where time moves slowly, where light acts as a softener of the passing of the days, and fragments of who I was, and who I am rest under the coat of trees and waves. All of it stays here, unmoved, waiting for my return. Every familiar sound tells a story, and today, we’re walking through the map of my childhood memories, one sound at a time.
