Decolonising public space, a look at Burleigh Heads NP

room 7 ECHOES

Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia

This walk aims to start a conversation around our Indigenous past, present and future and to begin to shift the paradigm when we think about our public spaces. Along the walk today you’ll explore the history of Jellurgal, informed by Indigenous perspectives and narrated by Gamilaroi man Tristan Schultz.

NOTE: each echo is spatially arranged to allow for reflection; either at its initial trigger location, or between. Use this time to ruminate and enjoy your surrounds.

I acknowledge and pay respect to the Yugambeh people of the Gold Coast and all their descendants both past and present.
