Botanical Garden Soundwalk Project

On Earth Day 2021, the Botanical Garden Soundwalk was unveiled to the public and will remain through Summer 2021 and beyond. This soundwalk installation features a variety of soundscapes composed by student and faculty members of the Student Composers Association (SCA) of the University of Georgia. Playback of soundscapes on the ECHOES app is prompted by the geolocational positioning of the listener within the collections of the botanical gardens. Visitors may design their own interactive soundtrack by virtue of the duration and order of regions they encounter. A range of soundscapes is assembled here from multiple contributors, each with a unique sound approach to illustrate aspects of the natural environment.
