here begins the journey home. after a long day of being in class, there is finally respite! the hustle and bustle of the roundabout push me forward as i attempt to get away from others as quickly as possible. in my room awaits my tiny cat, and I hurry to her so.

here i stop to watch the birds and squirrels! i need to get home but i can't help but be taken aback by the fauna along the way. cardinals and blue jays and robins chirp alike. the squirrels look at me as i look at them. perhaps they look through me--into me. rodents have knowing eyes.

after what feels like eons i find myself at home. i sigh as i walk up the stairs. the barren stairwell holds me as i climb to the second floor. the hallway seems to go on forever until i finally reach my room. my cat greets me with a chorus of mews and i feel warm.
