The Five Senses

Mount Coolum One of the Sunshine Coast’s ancient volcanic domes, start your hike surrounded by trees and with chirpings of the birds. Feel the cooler air through native bushland and forest and prepare your body for the climb. Soon you will find the path becoming steep as you go across the rock face. Listen to your body and feel it warming up and stretching your legs while the winds passing through your ears. Pause for a while to take a look at the coastal view. Sit on the rock and feel its energy with your hands and when ready, go back on track and immerse yourself with the experience of being surrounded by nature as well as other people as one existence. When on the top, spread your arms and feel the immensity where ocean connects to the land. Hydrate your body with water and let the energetic sun pour light onto your whole self.

Buderim Forest Waterfall A hidden oasis, rainforest filed with natural beauty. Follow the wooden boardwalk which takes you to the forest. Enjoy the trail on your own pace. Engage yourself in this sensational wander through the serene bushwalk along the creek and notice the towering trees, ferns, dramatic strangler figs and melodious forest birdlife. Ultimately you will arrive to the Buderim falls, a tranquil spot to unwind and reflect, sense, and feel through the sound of the water and the birds calling. See the forest from a different perspective through its reflection, a contrast imagery of the trees, and the sky on the water. Listen to the irreversible strong cascade of water down the rock face into the shallow waterhole below. Get closer to the waterfall and feel the spray splash on your face, feel the temperature of the water with your hands and feet, sense the power that water creates. Fill your ears with the rushing water, focus on the moment clearing your mind and thoughts.

Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve A rainforest, home to various flora and fauna, once you start the walk you will be immersed with the sound of birds singing and communicating to each other creating a beautiful and unique sound and rhythms. Feel the leaves with your hands. If you touch a leave, it is connected to the rest of the world. It connects to the trees, which connects to the soils and its roots, to the air with its leaves and all the living things in this living museum. Take a moment to explore the diverse plant and animal life. Allow yourself to stop and have a break from the fast-paced world. Close your eyes and take a slow and deep breath, keep your eyes closed and let your mind wonder. Take your own time to finish the walk, have a child’s eyes and be curious to discover something new. Do not forget to grab your favourite drink and take in the Glass House Montains landscape which will delight with its beauty and tranquility.

Maroochy Bushland Botanic Garden The gardens are home to many kinds of wildlife and plants as well as arts which nature and people intertwine. Perfect for gazing the palms and iconic eucalyptus and other rare and diverse plants through a forest walk. Enjoy the garden and discover and wander into frog ponds, a riparian and endangered orchid. Or simply sit back and relax, fill your lung with the fresh air while having a picnic surrounded by the natural environment.

Alexandra Headland This inviting beach is where the activities and the relaxed beach meet together.
