There is a tree outside your window. It has been there for as long as you can remember. You don't remember the last time you noticed it. It's always there. Looking out your window you notice the tree as if seeing it for the first time. In a very real way this is the first time you've noticed it. The rough yet smooth nature of the bark. It's simple beauty, its aged wisdom, the shelter it provides to the squirrels and the birds. As the sun begins to set for the day the light is perfect for you to see this tree as it is. You see your tree, proud and strong. Your constant companion right there just outside your window.
