Walk on Beakes St until you hit N. 4th Ave

The trail heads west a short distance from the sign at the Chapin Street entrance to the park and goes almost to Seventh Street. Running alongside a stretch of open water, it meanders up to higher ground and at times back down to the ‘toe of slope’ – where the bluff meets the flat land.

Between Chemistry and Kinesiology Building

In Andrea Carlson Future Cache, a 40-foot-tall memorial wall towers over visitors, commemorating the Cheboiganing (Burt Lake) Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. Written across the walls above and around the memorial, a statement proclaims Anishinaabe rights to the land we stand on: “You are on Anishinaabe Land.”
