Students from Music 270 (Intro to Music, Sound, and Technology) have written original electronic music compositions for locations throughout the Root Glen. Audiences are encouraged to walk through the Glen with headphones on. As you progress along the path, sound will activate and begin playing based on your location.

Throughout the park are a set of pieces designed to be experienced in tandem with the natural setting of the park. Listen to the soundscapes while exploring the plants, sculptures and environment here. Notice how listening to the music can enhance your perception of the area and what you are looking at. A selection of electroacoustic compositions based on the history of the Kingston Penitentiary. The audio in each area will continue to play until it is completed even outside of the designated area. For the best experience, do not enter a new area until the current track has finished.
