Derived from a community activated living memorial staged Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Harlem River Park, NY -- This piece has been excerpted and renewed to give us permission to sink deep into our grief and soar above as we take refuge in the central element of Sarah Ahmad's American Dream -- a re-imagining of the refugee tents that offered shelter to residents of Greenwood fleeing from the Tulsa Race Massacre in 1921.
Included here is a multi-track file of 6 recordings of the live presentation of saved. An original score composed by Courtney Bryan embodied by the First Corinthian Baptist Church RISE Choir, the Convent Avenue Baptist Church Inspiration Ensemble, the Bethany Baptist Church Mass Choir, and IMPACT Repertory Theatre under the bridge by the river's edge. recordists: Victor Garcia, Thanh Hoang, Roee Messinger, Chinylum Mukama, Jacqueline Wade, and Christian Baer.
