The East end of the church building was extended in 1889, and is late perpendicular in style by Lancastrian architects, Paley, Austin and Paley. Numerous grave stones were relocated as a result and make up the pathways around the church today. Look up and you will see the face of St Mary looking down on you. Let's keep walking and continue round to the south side of the church.
