Row 6- Body Snatcher’s Row (Snatchbody Row, Wigg’s Row, Browne’s Row, Douglas Rackham’s Row) Fact: The name ‘snatchbody’ comes from the 19th century practice of removing newly buried bodies from the churchyard to be used by surgeons in London. A cottage in this Row was the base for such a group until their leader, Vaughan, was imprisoned in the Tollhouse in 1827.
