You are unlikely to see deer out in the open in the middle of the day, but at dawn and dusk they come out of the woods, into open areas like this to graze. When disturbed, Roe Deer sometimes make a barking alarm call.

The Woodpecker Walk is a scenic route, with some steep inclines, steps and stiles, which may be challenging for some people. The walk is around 4 miles long and takes around 2 hours. Along the way, you will hear about how Shoreham Woods is managed as well as local history and wildlife.
