Built in the first half of the 11th century, the impressive Basiliek van Sint Servaas is the oldest church in the Netherlands. The fact that it shapes the landscape of the Vrijthof, makes it to one of Maastricht’s most famous churches. Saint Servatius, the first bishop of Maastricht, is buried in the basilica.
