The Kruisherenhotel

Dating back to the Late Middle Ages, the former Kruisheren monastery and the neighboring Gothic church have been transformed into an astonishing five-star design hotel, located in the heart of Maastricht.

Sint-Janskerk

The cultural landmark of Maastricht Sint-Janskerk was built in the 13th century. This church is not just a simple red tower and a fascinating view on top of it. Various cultural events, concerts and diploma ceremonies are held in Sint-Janskerk nowadays.

Basiliek van Sint Servaas

Built in the first half of the 11th century, the impressive Basiliek van Sint Servaas is the oldest church in the Netherlands. The fact that it shapes the landscape of the Vrijthof, makes it to one of Maastricht’s most famous churches. Saint Servatius, the first bishop of Maastricht, is buried in the basilica.

A world-famous bookstore, Boekhandel Dominicanen used to be is a Gothic monastery church. Dating back to the 13th century, the church lived through a couple of transformations until it was selected as the “fairest bookshop of the world” by the Guardian in 2008.

Augustijnenkerk was built in the 17th century. Being a historical national monument with a unique appearance by its high ceilings, huge windows and remarkable interior, the church now is one of the most popular event locations of Maastricht.
