Olivia Dabinett "NEURODIVERGENT" 2022

CW: loud sounds 2:32 min (two minutes, 32 seconds) Description: A family member is neurodivergent (he is on the Autism Spectrum, has BRRS, and a PTEN gene mutation). Many neurotypicals don't understand what sensory overload feels like. In "NEURODIVERGENT", I attempt to show the contrast between what a neurotypical would hear versus what someone with, say, Autism may hear in the same situation. I also attempt to show why focusing on the correct thing may be difficult for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, given they are often overwhelmed by and attending to multiple stimuli at once.
