Designer: David Clendining (Canadian artist and sculptor) Commemoration: Honours animals that served alongside their human comrades in war. These animals included mules, horses, carrier pigeons, and dogs.
Notable Fact: It is symbolically set beside the South African War Memorial, a battle for which Canada supplied 50,000 horses for mounted troops.
