DES304 Task 1 'Raindrops are Falling' by Danielle Ramsay

1 sound

Raindrops Are Falling Location: Baringa, Queensland Suitability: Suitable for all ages and mobilities Duration: 50 Seconds

Acknowledgement: We acknowledge the traditional land owners, the Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi people, whose lands stretched from Pine River in the south to the Burrum River in the north, whose land this sound walk is located and recorded on.

Raindrops Are Falling is a mobility-accessible sound experience located further along the walkway near the pond. The best spot to listen to this sound experience is right before the path intersects with the path leading towards the Baringa Tavern.

The sounds featured in this clip are a mix of rain sounds, water dripping and background ambient sounds from the local environment. There is a mix of light rain, constant static-sounding rain and some heavier rainfall.

The image accompanying this sound features a manipulated photographic image composition. The background is a photo I took near the Baringa Soccer Park of some toadstools directly after rain. It has a blue/green duo-tone filter applied. Superimposed over this is a repetitive cut-out image of an open golf umbrella with a curved handle. This image has been manipulated with a yellow/orange duo-tone filter applied.

The background image is my own and the cutout image of the umbrella is a Canva stock image.
