Chapter 07: Cities and Eyes 05

In this city, eyes are so fast. We're constantly grabbing glances. Which eye caught this one? Ah, that one! Eyes belong on a terrace, they belong here, they're glued to your screen. Eyes are windows to your places. Eyes are windows to places in your hometown, they're yours. When you look at the map of your city, you gaze at other people's eyes. Those who stare down at you from that screen are looking at the eye of another person. When you look at a place that you really love or whose attention you want to capture, those eyes stare right back at you from the picture. They keep staring, they don't get bored, they gaze upon you. Those places are a reflection of your heart. Eyes can be very dangerous for you and for others as well. Eyes betray and stare down upon those who look into them. Those eyes allow people to see how your heart desires, what gives you pleasure and what gives you pain.

Eyes also determine where you look. Eyes go out of focus while you view your city through a lens. Eyes are fixed to a certain place while others keep passing by with the notion of seeing and looking in a different way than the one that you view. The goal is to avoid making eye contact.

But look at the sky, the open space around you. Look out of those open spaces, look at the winding streets of your town. Eyes are going around and gazing into the eye of every passer-by. There are more windows in your town than the number of eyes.

Each one is staring at you, too.
