Saint MacCulinn of Lusk

1 sound

St. Macculinn is the patron saint of Lusk. He lived towards the end of the fifth century. The present Catholic Church in Lusk is called St Macculinn's. It is said that he jumped from the round tower, and he landed about a hundred yards away, where there stands an old Barrack now. There is a well at the back of the Barrack's and it is said St Macculinn's footprints are there yet. He tried to jump back to the top of the tower, but he struck his face off the wall and he was killed. Why did they make him a saint? I don’t know!
