go straight over the cross of paths, heading up towards the church, on your left, is the grave of a veteran of the Battle of Waterloo which took place in 1815. William Percival who was related to James, the Botanist of Hope Square, served in the 16th Queens light Dragoons before retiring back to his home village of Prestwich. His grave is found 5 rows up and 8 plots inwards. Keep heading up the path.
