Salam arrived in Britain from Iraq in the late sixties with a scholarship to study engineering. Following the 17 July Revolution in 1968 he was unable to return for nearly 40 years and made a life in Britain.. Here he describes his childhood and how he felt on his return to Iraq. (2min 42secs)
