Sabrina Churchwell "disillusionment" 2022

3:25min Description: my sound piece is a remixed song I created based off of an audio recording I taped of my brother Sami a few years ago. We were driving home when Sami began speaking of the sadness and disillusionment he feels when observing people living through/living for social media. (A feeling I am sure we can all relate to.) He says these social medialites are akin to a flock of sheep running towards a cliff, following some false idol or idea of a perfect reality. At the end of the piece I included audio of distressed people’s voices representing the sheeps’ journey towards the all-consuming edge.
