Diadéo Speaks

1 sound

Diadéo Speaks is a sound installation by Nour Sokhon, commissioned as part of the public art installation Diadéo trésor by Kandis Friesen. More about the project below.

Diadéo Speaks by Nour Sokhon (14'30, stereo sound) Using a fictional and imaginative approach, Diadéo Speaks animates a stone head artifact, giving it a voice that narrates its layered story. The soundscape unlocks portals of reconstructed memory, similar to the nature of exposed aerated concrete block —a material used for fast rebuilding after WWII — weaving layers of reverb echoing stories from the past and present. The work guides visitors through a fluid, fragmented narrative that extends across the park. This dynamic and intimate listening experience challenges traditional monuments, making history come alive and resonate through this alternative form of storytelling.
