Longer walk: 5 miles, strenuous, allow 2 1/2 hours
Turn left out of the museum and left again into West Street. Turn right at the crossroads and walk down the B2112 towards the Downs until the road forks with Beacon Road on your left. Take the footpath between the two roads signposted ‘Ditchling Beacon’. Follow the Sussex Border Path (green arrows) to the top of the Downs, turn left / east along the South Downs Way to Ditchling Beacon. From the Ditchling Beacon carpark turn left and follow the bridleway downhill back to Ditchling.
