Broad Meadow or Malahide Estuary, which you are about to cross over, is the place to come to see Shelduck, Pintails, Goldeneye, Red-breasted Merganser among a dozen or more birdspecies. The estuary is slightly tidal and brackish fed from the Broad Meadow River. Malahide, the town, out by the sea, is a pleasant seaside town with some decent restaurants and a great fish and chip shop.
