The jubilee pool was designed by in the early 1930s and was opened in 1935 in the year of King George V’s silver jubilee. The pool was popular for 50 years but by 1992 the pool had become dilapidated. Fortunately, an architect John Clarke formed the jubilee pool association to restore the pool. In 2014 severe storms hit Cornwall and the pool suffered serious structural damage and was closed again for restoration.
