Beneath our feet

Beneath our feet lies the closed Lottenkanal. A long, slightly sloping pipe embedded in the ground, the earth.

Here and there: an entry, an exit, an inflow, an outflow.

Sealed with lightly porous lids.

Hydrotec — not just a drain, a gully, but a canal.

Let us follow Lotte’s path.

Through the emptiness of the connecting pipes, the resonances of her flowing water travel, propagate, and reach our ears if we press them to one of the openings.

We move forward, our ears close to the ground.

We walk along the street as if we were both with and inside the stream.

We hear the connection. We can tune in.

We can lower our ears and feel the shifting distances.

The rushing fades slowly — for us, like a musical scale from lid to lid.

In every pipe, the space opens wide.

Caves enclosed by stone. Valleys. Water. Winds.

Gliding, detuned distances.

No void — the currents sounding semantics.

Near and far: droplets, pearls, splashes, blending with shimmering noise and rolling sound.

Unter unseren Füssen der geschlossene Lottenkanal. Eine lange, in das Erdreich eingelegte Röhre, leicht abfallend. Hier und da ein Zugang, Ausgang, Zufluss, Ausfluss.

Verschlossen mit leicht porösen Deckeln.

Lasst uns Lottes Pfad folgen

Durch die Leere der Verbindungsrohre pflanzen sich die Resonanzen ihres Wasserstroms fort auch in unsere Ohren, wenn wir sie an eine der Öffnungen legen.

Wir bewegen uns fort, unsere Ohren dicht am Boden.

Laufen entlang der Straße, als wären wir gleichzeitig mit und im Bach.

Wir hören die Verbindung, wir können unsere Ohren herablassen und die wechselnden Distanzen ertasten.

Das Rauschen fällt langsam ab , für uns wie (die Stufen) eine(r) Tonleiter von Deckel zu Deckel

in jedem Rohr der Raum weit aufgespannt.
