Sphinx Passage

The Sphinx Passage is a 120 meters long covered tile passage between the Eiffel Building and Pathé. Here, nearly 30,000 tiles bring you closer to the industrial past of the Sphinxkwartier. The tile panels are divided into 26 different chapters, and through a mix of family portraits of the founder Petrus Regout, old advertisements, pictures of the factory, tableware and toilet bowls, they narrate the industrial history of the Sphinx area. Each tableau is supported by a background story (Dutch and English), written by historians Jac van den Boogaard and Paul Arnold. Our local guide Charlotte will walk you through the passage.
