King James was on his way from losing the Battle of the Boyne to Dublin, and [decided] to stay a night with Mrs. Fagan who was living on Feltrim Hill. Feltrim Hill is about half a mile over to the east from here. When she saw the figure coming, she at first thought it was her uncle. Then he recognised that it might be King James. So she asked who won the battle, and he answered. "My cowardly Irish troops have run away" Mrs Fagan said "But your Majesty, you appear to have won the race?". James returned to France, where he spent the rest of his life in exile at Saint-Germain, protected by Louis XIV. Oh, and Feltrim means, Ridge of the Wolves, possibly.
