Shelter I : refuge

This wide blanket of ambient sound creates a living memorial to those who have been killed by state sanctioned violence. This piece is a meditation on possibilities of redemption. Part clairvoyance part fabulation, this piece combines the various perspectives: spectator, victim, witness and passerby. All audio is derived from field recordings from Okemah, Ok July 2003 and Galveston, Texas Juneteenth Celebrations, 2003.
