exTANt is an interactive sound installation produced by archivist Kathleen Aston and artist Yulia Gilich. exTANt traces historical linkages between communities who lived and worked in the area of the Santa Cruz Tannery throughout the centuries: local Indigenous peoples, former Salz Tannery workers, and the Tannery Arts Center live/work artists. Through oral history interviews, archival materials, and poetic soundscapes, exTANt considers the impacts the site has had on the workers, residents, and environment.
