Intangible Sound of Contact investigates the history of contact between distinct groups of people at the beginning of the 20th century. Based on the history of the Blumenau family, it addresses the German presence in Brazil and Turkey during the so-called new colonialism at the beginning of the 20th century. The project considers listening as a phenomenon that relates artistic experiences to a specific territory. Interwoven Narratives Hub Three cultural organisations, Famagusta New Museum, the Center of Performing Arts MITOS and the Famagusta Walled City Association, have come together to form the Interwowen Narratives Hub to connect public spaces with personal stories. Funded by the Vaha Programme , together, we are exploring the shared intangible heritage of Cyprus, listening to people’s stories, recording them, and making sure they can be passed on and shared with others.
