You will be transported into a day filled with history, relaxation, culinary delight, and nostalgia. You will explore how we develop a sense of belonging in an unfamiliar place. Through narration and sounds, you will go from Stratford School of Interaction to a crosswalk, the local shop strip, the town centre, Coffee Culture, the theatre, and finally Battery Park.

Sonic Boundaries: Power and Discipline in Stratford

What if the sounds we hear every day reveal invisible rules about how we should behave? Sonic Boundaries: Power and Discipline in Stratford is a seven-stop soundwalk exploring how sound reflects social expectations, public rules, and institutional power. The journey begins in everyday commercial spaces, including a chocolate shop, a coffee shop, and LCBO, where conversations and routine activities create different sound environments. It then moves to a busy roadside, where traffic and warning signals compete for attention. The final three stops take listeners inside Stratford School, moving from a lively social area through corridors and elevators to a quieter classroom. As you walk, pay attention to how different spaces influence what we hear, how we move, and how loudly we behave. Follow the stops in numerical order (01–07) for the intended experience. Headphones are recommended.
