* The ECHOES app will locate your phone via GPS and track you as you go * Put on your headphones and follow Gyrid’s voice which guides you through the walk * The whole route takes around 30 minutes and ends at the quay opposite the Oslo rådhus (Oslo City hall) * If you are not sure if you are going the right way, you can always refer to the map in the app, even though generally it’s recommended to keep the mobile in your pocket and look around you! Enjoy your walk! The walk begins at the Karpedammen, to the left of the banner, between the trees towards Karpedammen, and ends at the quay opposite the Oslo rådhus (Oslo City hall). During the walk you will be guided by Gyrid. She directs your gaze in different directions and supplies a personal narrative about the feeling of home and memory, interspersed with other voices and experiences. She evokes the changing and sensual aspects of cities with smells of mangoes, traffic and chaos, but also the parks and oases of calm. During the walk, you can hear soundscapes the composer has recorded from various places she keeps returning to, as well as the song "My Dear Oslo" which was composed for this walk. ###### Composition and voice Gyrid Nordal Kaldestad ###### Guitar Are Lothe Kolbeinsen ###### Mandolin and tenor guitar Roald Kaldestad ###### Programming Notam/Thom Johansen in the app echoes.xyz ###### For voices and answers the composer thanks Ben Duinker, Siri Jøntvedt, Mariam Gviniashvili, Stine Sørlie, Saila Hyttinen, Magdaléna Manderlová, Heather Frasch, Anne Hytta, Klaus Ellerhusen Holm, Eira Bjørnstad Foss, Marte Huke, Are Lothe Kolbeinsen, Kristin Bolstad and Lars Ove Fossheim ###### In partnership with Akershus fortress, Sounds Now ###### Supported by The EU's cultural program Creative Europe, Sparebankstiftelsen DNB, Norsk Kulturfond, NTNU

Money & Magic

Money & Magic

The GPS-based audio walk “Sans for finans/Money & Magic” is a guided investigation into the structural nature of the monetary creature. Inviting the audience to "pay attention" to value and money. What is money? How is money created today? Who is in control of the Norwegian Krone? More so, what is the relationship between money and value? The audience is guided by the voice of the curious spirit of Bodil, a soon to be retired anthropologist, a wanderer in the landscape of money and value, a counselor for the love-struck and love-stuck, and a traveler of many dimensions.

Ruseløkkveien 60

Ruseløkkveien 60

It is approximately 50 years since the television documentary "Boliger"(Housing) was recorded, where Ellen Aanensen, Eva Brustad and Bjørn Nilsen addressed the housing crisis and housing policy in Norway. They made a documentary series divided into 6 episodes which were broadcast on NRK in 1973. The episodes have only been played on national TV once, at 00:00, in a period between 4 April - 25 October 1973. In the first episode, a neighborhood in Ruseløkka is asked about housing and living conditions, after campaigning against cars being parked in their backyard. In the work Ruseløkkveien 60, the episode from "Boliger" becomes the starting point for an exploration around who has the right to claim space in the city. This is linked to the book "Le Droit à la ville/ The Right to the City" by Henri Lefebvre, which talks about both political positions in relation to the city, but also the actions of people, and the core of who creates the city; those who reside and lives in it. How can a neighborhood that is being exploited by its landlords stand up to them? The sound installation is accessible via the Echoes app and can be played in the surrounding area of Russeløkkveien 60 and Gallery ROM for Art and Architecture.

dissolutions

dissolutions

dissolutions is a geolocative sound-walk meandering through Oslo, following its mesh of underground sewer systems. The walk reflects on proximity between bodies through (dis)solutions. The walk is created for NyMusikk Periferien 2021. Our bodies are a myriad of things: constituting equal amounts of human cells as various bacteria, and 70% of it is water, which is in constant exchange. Our cells change according to our surroundings. Looking at the quantum world, we might even exist at several places at once. We are not stable. "We are all bodies of water. What we do to water, we do to every body, including ourselves... Everyone both lives in and is a drain." - Astrida Neimanis.
