Mindfulness and Wellbeing Soundwalk | Swansea City

This track was created to highlight the night life of Swansea and for the people that may be in the queue waiting for entry to the clubs to enjoy a mellow trance track. The aim of this was to use our skill sets to collaborate as a group to create a 10 minute composition.

There is a fine line between the waking and dreaming worlds. The different states of the mind are fascinating, both during the day and night hours. listen, as we try to simulate just some of the feelings these dream states can induce for you. This a sound walk created by University of Wales Trinity music students, we’ve created a sound walk tackling a contemporary issue that we feel is important to understand, war. We will take you on a journey through time, starting in a pre-Blitz Swansea at the Blitz memorial besides the River Tawe, moving up to Swansea Castle where you will experience the current political state of the world, and then travel into the future at Saint Mary’s Church in the Heart of the city! What does the future have in store, are we heading towards a third world war, or have we learnt from our mistakes? The walk itself will take just over 10 minutes. For the optimal listening experience, headphones are recommended.

This is a site specific sound walk that has been created by Steph and Ria two uni students studying creative music technology and as part of one of the assignments contemporary challenges- making a difference we have been asked to create these sound scapes. We hope to create a mindfulness experience for the users.
