Our plan was to go in in the opposite direction. Due to Melbourne Central's high volume of travel and commotion, our group wanted to gather sounds from the area, replace them with sounds of relaxation away from the site, and create a soundscape that serves as a meditation for passengers to enjoy as they enter the station. We collected sounds from playgrounds, water running from the sink, birds chirping, actual sounds from the site itself and turned them into sounds that can take people back to the memories of a holiday. Our intention is to transport people to a relaxing vacation spot where they can relive their favourite moments.
We began by recording sounds on the actual site and using reaper to transform them , but we soon realised that we needed sounds that were completely different from the ones we could hear and record at Melbourne Central. As a result, we decided to gather sounds from both the site and away from the location. We also came up with a series of drawings that enabled us to comprehend sounds in our own unique manner and to include all aspects of them that we deem significant
